Harkness Wilder Announces the Selection of Descartes Software by Medline Industries, Inc.

Evanston, Illnois, July 27, 2011---Harkness Wilder LLC, a consulting firm specializing in supply chain and logistics strategy, is pleased to announce Medline’s selection and procurement of transportation management software offered by Descartes of Ontario Canada.  Harkness Wilder LLC, on behalf of Medline, facilitated the assessment and evaluation of the marketplace for Transportation Management and Dynamic Route Planning technologies .

Medline will use Descartes’ Transportation Manager and Order Express to connect with and manage shipments with its base of transportation providers in the United States.  Medline will also use Descartes’ Route Planner for route optimization for its private fleet domiciled across its distribution network in the United States.  

Harkness Wilder will work with Medline and Descartes to facilitate the implementation of these technologies.  “We are thrilled with the final selection of Descartes and excited to continue our involvement with Medline Industries, Inc.,” said Julie Forgash, President of Harkness Wilder.  “Descartes’ solutions will provide Medline with the information and management tools to gain even more efficiencies in their transportation spend."
