Harkness Wilder Assists in Distribution Network Consolidation for
Leading Industrial Supplier
Evanston IL—July 31, 2009----Harkness
Wilder LLC, an Evanston IL-based consultancy specializing in supply
chain improvements, announces the completion of a distribution
network consolidation for Lawson Products.
Lawon Products, a leader in selling
and distributing services, systems, and products to the industrial,
commercial, and institutional maintenance, repair and operations
(MRO) market selected Harkness Wilder to provide oversight on the
closure of select distribution facilities.
The effort was a key part of Lawson's initiative to optimize
its physical distribution network for customer service, operating
expense and working capital investment.
Harkness Wilder was responsible for the project planning and
oversight of tasks related to the shutdown of the facilities,
including re-location of assets and business activities, disposition
of inventory, and liquidation of equipment and supplies.
"Harkness Wilder’s resources had the
right background and knowledge to successfully deliver the results
we needed to meet our budgetary goals as well as our aggressive
timelines,” said Shane McCarthy, Lawson Products’ Vice President
Logistics and Distribution.
